Wednesday in Madrid 2/15/17

20 Feb

We came into Madrid again on Wednesday to visit the Royal Palace.  After walking through Madrid through Gran Vía and stopping at Sol and Opera, we arrived at our final destination, El templo de Debod, to watch the sun set over Madrid.  Here is what our students have to say:

Yesterday, we continued to explore Madrid. This is a photo of the beautiful Almudena Cathedral in Madrid. This church is so beautiful and the architecture is so impressive that I could have stayed in there all day looking at the walls and ceiling of this stunning space. We also visited the Palacio Real in Madrid which was amazing; I still cannot believe how impressive and beautiful the architecture here really is. We also visited the Mercado de San Miguel, which was so interesting because I was able to see so many foods that are common in Spain, but not in the United States.”

The royal palace was one of the biggest most detailed buildings I have ever seen. Each room had so much detail and color which was amazing to see. La catedral de la almudena was full of bright colors and details that are not common in the churches in the United States.”

Wednesday, We visited the Royal Palace in Madrid. It was so beautiful! We got a tour of all the rooms. We weren’t allowed to take pictures in the rooms but we could take pictures in the “lobby”. After, we got to explore more of Madrid. When we got home, We celebrated Alba’s Birthday with a dinner.”

The day we went to Madrid was one of my favorites. The Royal Palace was stunning and the view was great. While roaming around Madrid looking for souvenirs and a certain jacket, I saw an old family friend that goes to school here in Madrid now, and it was very surprising and crazy. I got to eat more churros and bought a few souvenirs. At the last minute, the jacket that is very common here in Spain was found and bought. It was one of the best days I have had!”

Buenos días,

On Wednesday, we traveled to downtown Madrid once again, this time to visit a completely different part of the city: El Palacio Real. The royal palace was by far the highlight of the day with all of its rich history, cool artifacts, and almost perfect appearance. My favorite place in the palace was the excessively large dining room as it had many interesting pictures, ceiling designs, and clocks (a key part of the Spanish Royal collection). But since we were not allowed to take photographs, my photograph is of me standing in the main court of the palace.

Yesterday we went back to Madrid, but this time to see El Palacio Real. This was absolutely gorgeous and fit for a king (literally). The rooms were breathtaking and the details in the design and paintings were so well-thought out. My favorite part was the enormous chandeliers that were so delicate and elegant.”

“Yesterday we went to the palace in Madrid. It was very beautiful. My favorite part was seeing all of the different rooms in the palace and the View of the whole thing. I also liked the Egyptian-like monuments and the view of madrid that was right around the corner.”

In Madrid, we got to see El Palacio Real. That was a one in a lifetime experience. The Palace was ginormous! I’ve never seen such a beautiful, large, and detailed place.”

“Madrid and the palace and everything was so amazing! We toured the palace for a good hour or two and I feel like we didn’t even get to half of it, it was so huge, but it was beautiful and it’s crazy to think about how they did everything that they did. After we went to a beautiful church, where we were able to walk around and see all of the statues. And We got to walk through the 4 star center of Madrid!”

Today, we went to the Royal Castle…absolutely beautiful! We got to see the amazing paintings on the ceilings and got to imagine how great life must have been for the royals. Then, we went out to dinner with everyone to celebrate Alba’s birthday.”

Yesterday we went to the Royal Palace in Madrid. It was so beautiful and the cathedral next to it was incredible. I found it interesting how the current king of Spain doesn’t even live there, he lives in a smaller palace on the outskirts of Madrid. This country is very beautiful.”

Today we went to Madrid and visited the royal place.  The weather was perfect for this trip and we took a lot of pictures of the outside and inside of the palace. We walked around 8 miles and this included our visit to the palace,  a church, a visit to Egypt like Ramon our tour guide said,  and shopping where we spent almost 2 hours looking for a specific jacket which we luckily found.”

The Royal Palace, was gorgeous! I was so happy I got to see it! The Cathedral was also amazing I wish we had gotten to see the inside of the Egyptian temple we went to, but that was still beautiful to see from, the outside.”
